The Torquata Dado Planer Router Bit is a serious hunk of a tool.
A full 2” diameter with a 1” cutting depth, this bit is designed to remove large amounts of material fast while still leaving a smooth finish. Torquata is your economical entry into power routing for the enthusiast and professional maker alike.
Torquata Dado Planer Router Bit
Torquata’s Dado & Planer router bits are able to take deep cuts and remove a lot of material quickly, but they’re also able to be used as surfacing bits thanks to the variable geometry of the cutting edges. Two of the four cutting edges have a positive rake, engaging the work surface and removing material efficiently, while the other two edges have a negative rake to deliver a smooth, chatter-free surface. Thick carbide tips mean that you’ll be able get multiple sharpenings from each bit – Torquata delivers excellent value.
Applications
Torquata’s Dado & Planer router bits are intended for use in a router table or a slab-levelling carriage only. It is not suitable for hand-held applications. Ensure the correct rotational speed is used for the operation.
Use the Torquata Dado & Planer router bit to cut large dadoes and mortises quickly and cleanly. It rapidly cuts the shoulders for tenons, leaving perfectly smooth end-grain. In a levelling carriage, it produces excellent results when flattening wide slabs. You can also use it for end-grain cutting board surfacing.
